My name is Kaylie Allen and I am a freshman at Bethany College, studying Social Work with high hopes of becoming a child advocacy lawyer. I have always had a passion for working with children, and have worked hard throughout my life to become involved with the youth as much as possible. Throughout high school I worked as a first grade student teacher, took part in a program known as Lunch Buddies at a local elementary school, read to young elementary schoolers as a student volunteer, and taught children’s church at First Christian Church in Parkersburg. My biggest joy is working each summer as a church camp counselor, as I am able to spend a full week getting to know our region’s youth and helping them grow in their faith. I was also proudly the captain of my high school’s dance team, a student in the Parkersburg High School Leadership Team, and a member of National Honors Society. I love to help my community as much as I can, and have recently joined Bethany College’s Student Alumni Association, Love Your Melon club, and Student Activities Council. In addition to my studies, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, traveling, and reading. I look forward to continuing my journey to becoming the best leader I can be, as leadership has always called me, and I feel that working as Youth Mentor will be a wonderful, fulfilling experience in building both my leadership and youth work skills.
